America's Fallen Hero's

EN2 Caige Swain

Caige Swain was born on October 23rd 1997 in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from Newsome High School in 2016. He then moved to South Carolina to be with his mother and brother, Tony. Caige worked at the Publix deli until he left for Navy basic training.

Cage joined the Navy on March 28th 2017. He was stationed on USS Mesa Verde on September 11th 2017. He joined his ship during the final stage of return from deployment.

Aboard Mesa Verde, EN2 Swain won the hearts and respect of his Shipmates. As the "Go-To" boat engineer he was hand selected to train and qualify 4 Sailors as boat Engineers during 25 boat operations; while preparing the crew of USS Gunston Hall for her deployment. Petty Officer Swain's personal initiative and unwavering devotion to duty, reflected credit upon himself and we're in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval service.

Outside of the Navy life, Caige was a dear friend who helped his friends see the sunlight in the day. His smiles, jokes, and outlook always made them feel comfortable and welcomed.

His departing left a void in the passage-ways of the ship and a deep heaviness in the crew; not only because of their Shipmates passing but for his family.

Caige left behind his mother, father, two younger brothers and several loving aunts and uncles.
